RE3 features a unique feature called Reference Markers. This a useful feature for machines that do not have a camera as it makes aligning materials much easier.
You can set a Mark point by jogging the laser and pressing the "m" hotkey on your keyboard. Remember you can jog the laser head by pressing the arrow keys and the speed by using the Shift or Ctrl keys.
When the m key is pressed, a round mark circle appears in the workspace. This can be used to make a reference for your engraving.
For instance, say you have an image you want to sized down to fit a square material. you can jog the red diode to each corner of the material and set a reference marker. This will create 4 corners in the RE3 workspace. Now you can resize and orientate the image to your choosing.
The marker can also be set using the Jog Control section of RE3. At the bottom of this section are three icons that control the reference markers. Select the Set option. To remove the markers select Clear to remove the last marker or Clear All for all of the Markers.
